Drive into the past and experience the style of the 1930s and ’40s as the fabulous Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade comes to town. This year, which marks the event’s eighth year, the ever popular parade returns to the royal resort with all its usual glamour and panache from December 17 to 19, organised by Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin, the Hua Hin Hotelier’s Club and the Vintage Car Club of Thailand, with the support of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Hua Hin municipality.

The ever-popular “Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade” makes a comeback with all its glamour and panache to the Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin on Dec 17-19.

Organised by the Hua Hin Hotelier’s Club and Vintage Car Club of Thailand, the prestigious three-day rally will bring together the country’s passionate collectors for a stunning display of vintage cars. The rally also marks the 50th anniversary of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

As usual, part of the proceeds generated from the event will be donated to the Chai Pattana Foundation. Initiated by HM the King, the foundation is renowned for projects dedicated to improving quality of life and self-reliance among Thai people.

Now in its eighth year, the event features a programme of fun-filled activities and fine dining, most of which will take place at the resort.

Joining the parade will be 40 glorious vintage cars of the ’30s and ’40s, which will leave Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok on Dec 17 at 8am to embark on a 225-kilometre journey to Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Along the way, there will be stops in Nakhon Pathom and Phetchaburi for sightseeing and coffee breaks before the parade arrives at the resort at 5pm.

A welcome dinner is scheduled at the Market Village with a long buffet of 50 exquisite dishes cooked by chefs from the five-starred member hotels of the Hua Hin Hotelier’s Club.

Live entertainment will complement the evening of dining, which is also open to the public at 250 baht per person.

On Dec 18, the parade will drive to visit Mrigadayavan Palace, followed by lunch at Baan Chaophraya Ramrakop before returning to the resort. Then there will be a chance for members of the public to ride in a rare vintage car at the price of 250 baht per trip from 2-4pm.

At 4:30pm on the same day, the parade will tour Hua Hin and all participants will dress up in period costumes. That evening will feature a cocktail reception and a gala dinner under the theme “The Memory of Hua Hin”.

The dinner serves authentic Thai food, a live band, charity auctions, a period costume competition and lucky draws to win room packages to stay at various Accor & Centara Hotels & Resorts properties. Tickets for the gala dinner cost 2,500 baht per person.

The Hua Hin Vintage Car Parade packages are also available for anyone wishing to join the event.
