Hua Hin Centennial Celebrations & Red Cross’s Fair 28 April to 9 May, 2010

Seaside Hua Hin District and the Municipality of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province join forces with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for the launch of Hua Hin Centennial Celebrations & Red Cross’s Fair 2010.

The event is scheduled to take place at Suan Luang Rajini Park (Sibkaorai) in Hua Hin during 28 April – 9 May, where tourists will get to view the city as it was 100 years ago.

The activities will feature a grand parade to mark the 60th Royal Wedding Anniversary Procession marching from Hua Hin Clock Tower to Sibkaorai Park, the classic dance along with full band of Sundharaporn music, retro fashion show, traditional Beauty Contest, Hua Hin Art & Cultural display, music performances, local product and food fairs.

According to the Director of TAT Prachuap Khirikhan office, Pinnart Charoenphol, Hua Hin has been a well-known attraction among Thai and international tourists since the reign of King Rama VII, who visited the place almost every summer. The Klaikangwon Palace was built during his the reign and become a pride of Hua Hin residents. The community has expanded gradually as the first southern railway line opened in 1911. The city was entitled by Thai and foreign visitors as the ‘City of Magic’.
